Abstract
The ongoing research explores how global social policy in health translated into regional and national health governance in terms of ideas and practices by taking the ASEAN community and Thailand as a case study. An interdisciplinary approach employed for the investigation of transnational and regional health policy formulation and implementation. This case provided different explanations and interpretations from the previous contribution that initially focused on health policy formulation and application in the global north. The study also explores how health policy and governance have shaped the global south, which digs deep into the regional, national, and local contexts in particular countries. The ASEAN community and Thailand, as a case study, would help the most in clarifying how and why global ideas and discourses come up to national decision unite. Unlike the EU, ASEAN combined with diverse countries in terms of culture, politics, and economy. The study would help understand health policy formulation in the global south taken into a considerable developmental guideline for the developing countries.
