European Science Foundation
The European Science Foundation promotes high quality science at a European level. Scientific Programmes are medium- to long-term activities focused on specific themes. They bring together substantive research projects carried out by multinational teams of researchers, and may include limited fellowship schemes. Programmes last an average of three to five years and are funded on an à la carte basis by the Foundation and Member Organisations.
Fulbright Program

The flagship international educational program sponsored by the United States Government. The Program operates in 140 countries, including 51 countries with binational Fulbright Commissions and Foundations. Application procedures for Fulbright grants to study or teach in the United States vary from country to country. Fulbright Commissions or the American Embassies administer the program, with the assistance of local educational authorities and institutions.
Institute of International Education
IIE global higher education and professional exchange agency; provides training and leadership development programs for public and private sector professionals around the world. IIE is the organizer of democracy-building, civil society and human rights training initiatives in transitional societies. IIE is also developing collaborative programs with Latin America, Japan and Southeast Asia.
Scholar Rescue Fund Fellowships
The Scholar Rescue Fund of the Institute of International Education (New York) provides fellowships for scholars whose lives and work are threatened in their home countries. These fellowships permit scholars to find temporary refuge at universities and colleges anywhere in the world, enabling them to pursue their academic work and to continue to share their knowledge with students, colleagues, and the community at large.
The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology

The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology joins the international doctoral programmes in sociology and in history under one umbrella. It provides an inspiring research environment for a diverse group of about 160 doctoral students and integrates research on a broad variety of topics. The variety of topics will be supervised by professors at both of the involved institutions the Department of Sociology and the Department of History, Philosophy and Theology .
The Open Society Institute
The Open Society Institute (OSI) is a private operating and grantmaking foundation based in New York City that serves as the hub of the Soros foundations network, a group of autonomous foundations and organizations in more than 50 countries. OSI and the network implement a range of initiatives that aim to promote open societies by shaping government policy and supporting education, media, public health, and human and women's rights, as well as social, legal, and economic reform. OSI initiatives award grants, scholarships, and fellowships on a regular basis throughout the year.
