- How to write a strong peer review;
- Mentoring panels of senior sociologists on topics of interest for junior sociologists;
- Sessions and workshops on teaching sociology;
- How to provide support, research or service in United Nations bodies.
Proposals for Professional Development Sessions should include the following information:
- Name of the session.
- Name of the session organizer(s). Please note that at least one session organizer must be an ISA member.
- Names and institutional affiliations of the presenters, as well as whether all people named have agreed to participate. Please remember that the Rabat Forum is in-person only.
- Name and institutional affiliations of the session chair / facilitator.
- A proposal (up to 500 words), written in English, French or Spanish, explaining the importance of the session and the choice of the presenters.
The proposal should be in PDF or Word format and emailed to Aaron Pitluck, Chair of the Professional Development Sessions Committee at isa@isa-sociology.org with the subject line “Professional Development Session Proposal.” For full consideration, the deadline for applications is October 1, 2024. All applicants will be informed of whether the ISA has space to accommodate their proposal by October 18, 2024.
